We spend our life collecting things. These may be materialistic or they may be beliefs and thoughts of others. In later years when we realize what we clung to were memories reflected by those things and that what we believed to be our truth may no longer be so.
Some feel lost and alone, wondering where did things go wrong. Others, choose to relive their pleasant times and all the fun they had. An older friend recently said something about aging in reference to this. “We may not have our friends and loved ones anymore, but at least we have our memories of good times to keep us going.”
Is that what you want to do, live through your memories? Or do you want to create new adventures in the present? Memories dwell on the past and keep you in the past. Adventures are created in the present. Your life was meant to be lived. How do you choose to live your life?
Instead of filling your life with memories being lived in the mind over and over again, open your heart to new experiences and live in the now. As you get older, you will still be enjoying new experiences, challenging yourself and expanding your energy. It is living your life to the fullest. You will be collecting experiences in the now rather than reliving the past. Age is just a number; if you take care of the body and stay flexible, you could live a longer, more fulfilling life.
Some people are afraid they will hurt themselves and become an invalid. You do not have to go sky diving or mountain climbing unless you really want to. Instead of placing limitations on yourself, see them as adventures. If you are concerned, then ask that you are protected and guided during your adventure and you will be.
You do not have to wait until the afterlife for heaven. You can create heaven on Earth in your present life and in the afterlife. Create a list of everything you want to do while you are alive; then start doing them. “I can’t afford it” is not an excuse. Where there is a will there is a way; look for alternative ways that cost very little or exchange your skills for the opportunity. Each year, add more to your list. This is not a bucket list; it is an adventure list of how you want to create your heaven on Earth. After all, you are a creator.
Wishing you Heaven on Earth, Mary
